Youth Leader STOMP Out Bullying™
Brandon Schloss was born and raised in Palm Beach County Florida. He is a 15 years old and is a sophomore in high school. While in Middle School, Brandon was one of over 24,000 middle school students throughout Palm Beach County who took part in the “Do the Write Thing Challenge”, a writing program for middle-school students organized by the U.S. National Campaign to Stop Violence. The “Do the Write Thing Challenge” gives middle school students an opportunity to examine the impact of youth violence and bullying in their home, communities and schools. Out of the 24,000 middle school students who participated in the “Do the Write Thing Challenge”, Brandon was selected as the 2013-2014 male ambassador for Palm Beach County. As ambassador, Brandon traveled to Washington D.C. and met with other national student ambassadors to discuss the impact of youth violence and bullying and ways to prevent the same.
After being selected as an ambassador for Palm Beach County in the “Do the Write Thing Challenge”, Brandon continued his efforts to combat bullying in Palm Beach County. Working with community leaders, Brandon coordinated and participated in multiple speaking engagements at many Palm Beach County schools and after care programs further raising the awareness about the impact and prevention of bullying. He also volunteered his services at the Palm Beach County Youth Court Juvenile First Offender Program.
As a high school student, Brandon continues to challenge himself in and out of the classroom. He is an honor roll student in the top 5% of his class. In order to improve his public speaking skills, he became a member of the Varsity Debate team where he was named a Captain. Recognizing the importance of being a team player and physical fitness, Brandon has a passion for sports. He has played competitive baseball on multiple travel baseball teams and on his middle school team. As a high school student, Brandon continues to participate in competitive sports and is a member of his high school’s Cross Country and Track team.
Brandon’s future goals include continuing to excel in school and sports while devoting time to community service, including serving as a Youth Ambassador for Stomp Out Bullying™. At this time, Brandon is interested in pursuing a career as a lawyer or veterinarian.
