Kyle Lee
Youth Leader STOMP Out Bullying™

Kyle Lee is a rising senior at The Bronx High School of Science. He is a firm believer in the power of community, creativity, and compassion, Kyle brings a unique mix of leadership, empathy, and drive to everything he does.

Outside of school, Kyle is the founder of runwsole, a youth-focused running club that aims to foster both physical fitness and community among teens in his neighborhood. Inspired by the mental clarity and connection he found through running, Kyle created runwsole as a space where young people could support each other through movement and shared goals. Whether he’s training for his next half-marathon or capturing the moment on his camera, Kyle uses his free time to inspire and uplift others around him.

Kyle also works as a Discovery Guide Leader at the Central Park Zoo, where he oversees a team of over 40 high school volunteers. In this role, he interacts with more than 500 zoo visitors daily—leading educational talks, managing team schedules, and serving as a key peer mentor. His passion for science also extends into research: as a participant in NYU’s prestigious ARISE program, Kyle is currently studying chromatin packing and genome organization under Dr. Fei Li. Additionally, he serves as a team leader at ThinkNeuro, where he manages a group of 15 high school and college students developing an online platform to support teens impacted by drug addiction.

Within his school community, Kyle is deeply involved in several facets of his school. He currently serves as the school’s Athletics Director—coordinating over 50 varsity and junior varsity sports teams, organizing school-wide events such as Homecoming and Student vs. Faculty games, and promoting school spirit. He also plays a major role in S!NG, Bronx Science’s student-run musical theater production, where he is both a scriptwriter and director for this upcoming year’s show– helping to raise over eleven thousand dollars for S!NG last year. This creative outlet has helped him develop confidence, communication skills, and pushing himself outside of his comfort zone.

Kyle’s commitment to anti-bullying advocacy began after a difficult experience with relational bullying during his sophomore year. The isolation and stress he faced during that time gave him a new understanding of how many students struggle in silence—and how important it is to be the voice that speaks up. Since then, Kyle has become a leading member of his school’s Anti-Bullying Committee, where he advocates for awareness and prevention through peer mentorship, school-wide campaigns, and direct support to students. He also works closely with students who are neurodivergent or have social anxiety, and will be joining the Peer Support Group in his senior year, specializing in bullying-related issues.

As a STOMP Out Bullying Youth Leader, Kyle hopes to use his voice to help students everywhere feel seen, supported, and empowered to speak up. He plans to pursue a career in pediatrics, combining his passion for advocacy and science to make a lasting impact on young people’s lives. For now, he’s also embracing his most important role—being the annoying older brother to his two younger sisters.
