Ellie Black
Youth Leader STOMP Out Bullying™
Ellie Black is a twelfth grader in Millburn, New Jersey. She is an honor student who loves singing, dancing, acting and playing tennis on her high school tennis team. She is a member of an international singing group called HaZamir that performs at colleges, homeless shelters and nursing homes. She is an editor of her school’s Spanish literary magazine, an editor of the school newspaper, and an Executive Board Member of the Spanish Club. On the Student Liaison Committee, Ellie collaborates with the principal and the Board of Education to communicate the importance of treating all students equally and with respect. She wants to use her fortitude and leadership experience to help combat bullying and cyberbullying.
Ellie is proud to be a leader in her school and in her community. She is on the Board of the Kids4Kids Youth Committee at Morristown Medical Center’s Children’s Hospital, for which she organizes events and raises money for sick children. She led a project to make blankets to comfort patients. In addition, she relishes being an avid Peer Leader Officer. Ellie created a PowerPoint presentation program on bullying and cyberbullying which was sent out by the Principal to her entire high school during the COVID-19 lockdown. The comfort of students is paramount to her.
As a Paper Mill Playhouse All-Star, Ellie performs in front of and speaks to students with autism, Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy. Being a Paper Mill Playhouse All-Star has been one of the most transformative, uplifting and rewarding experiences of her life. She wants to use her performing and communication skills to encourage students to treat everyone with dignity.
Serving on the Student Steering Committee at her school, Ellie is spearheading the anti-bullying section of the “Physically Apart Mentally Together” presentation. She has counseled students on various issues including how to deal with bullying and is thrilled to combine her ambition to help others with her passion for equality and positive self-esteem. Ellie is proud to be a STOMP Out Bullying Youth Leader and aspires to end the hate, change the culture and STOMP Out Bullying.
